Opinion page has too much 'partisan garbage' - News from southeastern Connecticut - theday.com

If I wanted to read partisan, unsourced, opinionated drivel, I would read Facebook comments. Instead of partisans like Cal Thomas and Gary Franks, who cherry pick their facts and invent their own theories, why not just let random online commenters write opinion pieces. They would still be uneducated drivel, but at least they would be local drivel. It is one thing for The Day's opinion pages to have unresearched opinions from our neighbors, but do we really need partisan garbage (from the right and the left) imported from other parts of the country as well. We could also restrict pieces to those that rely on actual, verifiable facts, but that is too much to ask in 2022, so let's just get rid of the national "experts" please.
