Guest Opinion: What the media isn't saying about Trump - Bucks County Courier Times

In my opinion, the mainstream media violates its responsibility of factually informing the citizens.

As a result, people have formed opinions of President Trump's administrative ability on disinformation, falsehoods and an outright dislike for him and his supporters. Honest, factual journalism is on life-support. The media has chosen to keep the public in a state of panic based on collective negative and biased reporting.

Reporting the pros and cons, without bias, on any of the following issues could have led to informed discussions. Rather, media purposely chose not to report the accomplishments of the Trump administration. A minute sampling:

In 2017, the Trump administration expanded energy infrastructure projects like XL pipeline, created of 1.7 million new jobs, cut unemployment to 4.1%, slashed federal regulations, oversaw a rebounding economy, recognized Jerusalem, supported veterans rights, left the Trans-Pacific Partnership, (jobs) for Americans.

In 2018, it reformed the Medicare program to stop hospitals from overcharging low-income senior on cost of drugs, proposed a program to allow imports of drug from Canada, secured $6 billion in new funding (budget) to fight the opioid epidemic, made the U.S. a net exporter of natural gas for the first since 1957, signed Right-To-Try legislation allowing terminally ill patients access to experimental treatment.

Tax cuts were signed into law to increase funding for school choice, tax cuts that allow families to use 529 college savings plans for elementary/secondary schools. He also signed a law ending the gag orders on pharmacists that prevented them from sharing information and saving money.

In 2019, Trump signed a law to make cruelty to animals a federal felony so abusers face tougher consequences, committed to USDA more than $125 million to help rebuild rural water infrastructure, successfully negotiated a United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement expecting to create 176,000 new jobs in its sixth year. (Congress’ Democrats sat on this for one year.)

American interests are taking center stage. For example, after years of not paying their fair share, NATO allies will have increased defense spending.

A booming stock market, an unemployment rate that’s the lowest in 50 years.

Recently, President Trump fought to have hospitals reveal costs for procedures. However, the nation's hospital groups have joined to sue the Trump administration's new federal rule that would require them to disclose discounted prices they give to insurers for all sorts of procedures.

The president believes that people have a right to know.

Perhaps it is time for a review of The Journalist's Creed, written by the first dean of Missouri School of Journalism, Walter Williams - ...write a review, hold your opinion!
