Dear Editor:
I have been asked to write more about local situations rather than national ones. While it was a difficult decision to make, I realize that my views will have little influence on actions of our government. It is oblivious my, or your, opinions have no effect on our governing bodies.
With that said, I am voicing my last opinion on the subject, unless something earth-shocking should occur. That subject being national politics.
Presently, we are witnessing the most juvenile, idiotic and stupid displays of nonsense in our government political machines that I have seen in my many years of observing it. I have been depressed with many issues, both Republican and Democrat, in the past, but since the election of President Obama, and now President Trump … I have to say that I, along with many of you, have become sickened of politics!
We have a president that I believe is out of order with his “twitter account nonsense.” I have to believe that he believes that he reaches more people with his diatribes, but I think that if he would hold reasonably timed television viewings, more caring people would watch and listen. I further think that people like Mrs. Pelosi and her entourage should be removed. Hosting a vendetta in any format is not only childish, but absurd and should be totally ignored as such! The effort, on “getting even” for Hillary Clinton’s loss, should be put to use solving some of this country’s real problems. Our Congress should be listening to us, not the diatribe they are hearing from our “supposedly” governing bodies. Intelligent governing is what this country wants, not political jealousy!
Simply put, this is what I believe; (1) Let the president run the country, within reason, and if we don’t like what he/she has done…vote him/her out. (2) If you are a citizen of this country, you have a right to vote…if you are not a citizen, go home and stop trying to make the United States into the country you have left behind. (3) Beautiful art is to be admired, not worshipped. (Artists like Michelangelo and Divinci understood that.)
Listening to the people is vital. Shakespeare said it well, “Let them obey that know not how to rule.”
