Who could it possibly be? Here’s a little help.
He’s a liar. A pretender. Fabricator. Alternative Facts Creator. Con artist. Unapologetic. Snake oil salesman. Creates diversions to divert attention away from reality. Narcissistic. Will blame anyone but himself for a problem or mistake. Bullying is an effective tactic.
He uses his lies as a coat of armor to become someone he’s not. He’ll fight like hell not to be exposed. Disagreeing with him is not accepted. Do you need more help?
In case you’re wearing blinders, he currently is the president of the United States.
As if this isn’t enough, what’s even more scary is the control he has over other branches of our government. He’s got the Republicans in both houses on their knees. It’s doubtful how many of them can spell the word “integrity.” Survival is the word of the day.
His State of the Union speech is all that’s needed to demonstrate how they genuflect at what Trump says and does. The speech, as expected, was full of exaggerations, outright lies and claims of successful programs he had little or nothing to do with.
Watching members of Congress in action, one got the impression that they were sitting on chairs of nails. No sooner had they sat down, they jumped up to applaud, cheer and whistle. The bigger the lie, the louder their response.
What’s most bothersome is that these marionettes in their response are complicit in his lies. By their response, they are endorsing everything he said. His lies are now their lies.
If that doesn’t make your palms perspire, there’s very little hope for our country.
According to the Los Angeles Times, here are some of the facts he stated that are not factual:
“Since my election, we have created 7 million new jobs.” He claimed the success was possible because he had “reversed the failed economic policies” of the Obama administration.
Some 6.7 million new jobs were created during his first 35 months in office, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. This compares with nearly 8 million created in the final 35 months of the Obama administration.
To continue, the nation enjoyed 110 months of job growth, two-thirds of them under President Barack Obama.
Additionally, Trump claimed 12,000 new factories have been started during his presidency.
The manufacturing sector actually has been in a recession. About 12,000 such jobs were lost in December alone.
Mark Zandi of Moody’s Analytics said the nation has about 200,000 factories, a figure that hasn’t changed appreciably since 2013.
When it came to health and pre-existing conditions Trump said “We will always protect patients with preexisting conditions,” calling that “an ironclad pledge.”
His administration has made several efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act, including the guarantee of insurance coverage for patients with preexisting medical conditions.
He also made several false claims about energy, the border wall, and the environment.
So the question is, “How can we trust this group,” whose job, in addition to other things, is to monitor the executive branch of government? This group who rolls over and kisses the ring of the president. Who gives him Carte Blanche.
This group who is supposed to be responsible for declaring war. How many of them would you trust in a foxhole with you?
Cowardly is. Cowardly does.
