Your Opinion: Super illusion Tuesday - Jefferson City News Tribune

Steven Wilson

Jefferson City

Dear Editor:

This past Tuesday, in America, over a dozen states performed a duty that was neither super nor free-vote.

The DNC has already ordained Joe Biden to be their candidate. The reasons for a few other contenders dropping out just days before we will ignore for now. Bernie Sanders, in 2016, was taught a lesson about the Democratic party, but failed to learn from it. And now, he will suffer the same fate again. An old fool is never as funny as they are the first time: after that, it is just sad.

Donald Trump is the incumbent and Americans always vote incumbents back in (unless term limits are in play).

There will be other choices (third parties), but Americans pretend they want choice.

With all of the empirical data that the men and women of the government have provided the citizenry over the years, one would assume the citizens of America would have also learned their lesson, but alas, they have not.

They will continue to donate, and support a person who tells them exactly what they want to here. The candidates know they are lying, but the voters have conditioned them to do so.

The American voter is a junkie, and they get their fix on Tuesdays every other year.

There is no place in America for truth, and American voters have no legacy for voting for intellect. They only vote for the best storyteller: the best dealer they can find. The one who makes the voter the star of the production.

The stage is set: They will send your children to war, they will spend your money on things you don’t want, and the entire time will be spent convincing the voter that they are free to leave anytime during the show.

It is only the critical thinker of the vanguard who knows the truth: In America, freedom is an illusion and voting is a needle submerged upon a heated spoon or a line of powder on a mirror in a darkened room.

Don’t forget to thank your dealer at the door; get your fix now.
