I want to thank area State Representatives Lueck, Poston, Kresha and State Senators Ruud and Gazelka for voting yes on the Alec Smith Emergency Insulin Bill. Your actions are going to save many, many lives. I also want to applaud Quinn Nystrom who has worked tirelessly on this issue for decades. I was shocked to read that Representative Heintzeman voted no on this bill. Why would he not do everything he can to protect and preserve life? I find his lame excuse harmful to his constituents and fellow human beings needing life-sustaining service, drugs or medical devices. Also, I find it even more appalling that this elected official refuses to do face to face or phone interviews. What that tells me is that he does not have the skills, knowledge or experience to do the job he has been elected to do. It also leads me to believe that he has to have others do his job for him. I understand the importance of getting back to constituents as quickly as possible, having served in that same capacity myself. The constituents of House District 10A deserve to have a representative who will listen, do their homework, has the skills the job entails and represents all of their constituents, no matter what their affiliations are.
