Dear Editor:
I am fascinated on how people are handling the social distancing orders. I was reminded recently of Anne Frank. Two families living in a cramped attic afraid for their lives. They couldn’t use the toilet during the day for fear that it would be heard. Living in virtual silence the whole day, only being able to make sounds in the evenings after the office downstairs closed. They made the best of their situation and found ways to get along and live life. Today people have TV, the internet, running water, video games, work from home and face time. They can walk out in the sun, work in their yards and then complain how hard it is on them. If you can imagine what Anne’s life was like, you begin to feel lucky in comparison. You can be thankful that you don’t yet live in a world where if you are seen or heard police will burst in and drag you and your family to a camp. Enjoy and be thankful for what you have because it could be a lot worse and tomorrow it could all be gone.
