ALPENA, Mich. — Public comment took center stage again at August’s Board of Education meeting.
People shared their thoughts on hot–button topics including critical race theory and the treatment of transgender students.
Board President Ned Heath found himself taking the reins several times.
The board approved a new social and emotional learning course, adopted food service and non–discrimination policies, and approved a new bus contract.
